Linthouse Community Shop is a friendly community shop on Govan Road, helping local people stretch their budgets further while providing a welcoming place to shop, meet people and get support.

We’re part of Good Food Scotland, working in partnership with Linthouse Housing Association.

Everyone is welcome

There’s no complicated eligibility criteria, just affordable food and a friendly welcome.

We just need your name and address to get you signed up. Membership is £1 a month, and you only pay it when you shop. So, if you don’t shop, you don’t pay!

We accept cash and card payments, so you can pay for your shopping whichever way suits you.

And remember, your membership includes free soup, a cuppa and a biscuit when you visit the CommuniTEA Kitchen… plus the best banter in Linthouse!

What’s in the shop?

We stock a changing range of affordable food and household essentials, including:

• Fresh fruit and vegetables
• Fresh and chilled food
• Meat and fish
• Frozen food
• Milk, cheese and eggs
• Cupboard essentials
• Pet food
• Cleaning products and toiletries
• Halal and Free From options
• Sweet treats and snacks
• And plenty more!

Our stock changes depending on what’s available, so there’s always something different to discover.

More than a shop

CommuniTEA Kitchen

Our CommuniTEA Kitchen is a friendly place to sit down, have a cuppa and chat.

Members can enjoy free soup in the shop, alongside tea, coffee and biscuits.

We also offer toasties to enjoy in the shop or take away, with gluten-free bread available at no extra charge.

It’s not just about food. It’s about having somewhere local where people can pop in, have a blether and feel welcome.

What’s happening at Linthouse?

There’s always something happening at the shop and in our wee room.

We host regular community activities, advice sessions and support from local organisations, including:

• Stretch & Stroll, our friendly walking group
• Jobs & Business support
• Money, debt and housing advice
• Energy advice
